I just wanted to say that I am sorry that I haven’t posted as much as I thought. I tend to post more on our homesteading blog I guess because that is where we started. I really do want to post here because I like the thought of having a “homeschooling” blog, but I just can’t seem to make it work. So, please forgive me for not being a good blogger. I will try to do better.
So, since I am here I guess I should post a bit.
Isabella Victoria Maria was born on November 10th at 9:30pm. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz, and was 19 3/4 in. She is just beautiful, and we are all so in love with her.
She is now almost 3 weeks old, and I can’t believe that it has already been almost 3 weeks! It seems that they grow faster with each new addition.
Advent is about to begin, and we are all excited. I posted earlier about the Advent Conspiracy video on You Tube and I feel that everyone needs to watch it. Let us just say that it is yet another wake up call that we all need in some shape or form. It is so easy to get caught up in all of the gift giving/buying/recieving. Yes it is nice to give gifts to our loved ones, but what is the most important gift to give I ask you? Especially to our children? It is the gift of faith! The gift of love and self-sacrifice. The gift of teaching our children about God and all that he has done for us. The gift of God being born as a human being. The fact that Christ lived as a poor and humble man. The fact that He allowed Himself to die for our sins to open up the gates of Heaven for men, so we could share in His happiness for all eternity! What could be a greater gift than that? Absolutely nothing.
So, this Advent we are planning on focusing more on what the “Real Meaning” of Christmas is…Christ. I hope that you all are inspired to truly live this Advent the way that we all should. Really to live everday as we should. I know I need to!
I am glad that Patty posted the video. God was calling out to me again…to remind me what is really important, and that is living our lives the way that Christ lived, and to give as Christ gave. Christ is the perfect example of how we should live our lives. I want to pass that on to our beautiful 8 blessings that God has been so gracious to give to us.
God sent us the perfect gift, and that is what we need to remember. We need to try not to get caught up in all of the commercialism of the season, that is not what matters. The gifts will come and go, but Christ will always be there no matter what, and our children’s souls will live for all eternity. Legos, toy cars, video game systems, ipods, etc. will not be there to help our children get to Heaven, but we can help them! Our children’s souls, family, and love are important. Most of all God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit…are important.
May God bless you all abundantly.
